Who we are

We're the doggy team at MyKoda 🐾. For anything about your data, write to us from the app's support chat or at soporte@my-koda.com.

What data we process

Your account data: name, surname, username, email, phone, country, the photo you choose (one of MyKoda's), the codes you registered or renewed with and how long your access lasts.
Your study data: your public exam or your studies, your subjects, your class timetable, exam dates and deadlines, syllabus, sessions, progress, tests and notes.
The documents you upload and what you annotate on them.
The messages you write to us through the support chat.
If you use friends: your friend code, who you've added, the messages you write to each other and the gifts you send each other.
Technical usage data: connection date, IP address (and the approximate location worked out from it, such as the city or country, calculated on our own server without sending it to anyone), type of device and browser, and how you use the artificial intelligence features.
If you turn on notifications: your browser's or phone's notification address and its keys, so we can notify you of messages with the app closed. It's deleted when you log out on that browser.
A record of the emails we send you: to which address, which one and when, without their content. It's deleted after 6 months.

What we use it for

Providing you with the service: creating your plan, saving your progress and making the app work.
Helping you through the support chat.
Emailing you, only about your account: the welcome email, the link to recover your password, security alerts (if your password or email changes) and when your access is about to end or has ended. Never advertising.
Keeping things secure (preventing unauthorised access, for example from an unusual place), monitoring service usage and knowing which countries it is used from.
Reviewing reports between friends (see below).

The legal basis is the performance of the terms of use you accept when you sign up and, for security, our legitimate interest. If you request access from the home page, we only use your data to reply to you (by email, with your code).

Friends and messages between users

Nobody can search for you: only someone with your friend code (or your invitation link) can add you, and you have to accept. Your friends see your username (or, until you choose one, your name and your surname initial), your photo, whether you're online, your messages and Koda's house. They don't see your full name, your email, your phone or your studies.
You can remove, block or report a friend whenever you like. When you report someone, the administrator receives the reason and a copy of the latest messages between you two at that moment, only to review the report. Apart from reports, nobody reads your conversations.
If you're under 14, you need permission from your mother, father or guardian to use the app.

Who it's shared with

Hostinger, where the app, its database and the email we write to you from are hosted.
Google (Gemini), when you use the artificial intelligence features (tests, tutor, reading mock exams): it's sent the text from your notes or your question needed to answer.
If you turn on notifications, your browser's notification service (Google, Mozilla, Apple or Microsoft, depending on which one you use) delivers them to your device. They're encrypted: that service can't read what they say.

We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have the account. If you delete it (from Settings) or the administrator deletes it, your data, documents, messages and friendships are deleted, except what the law requires us to keep. Of the artificial intelligence usage, only the cost remains, without knowing whose it was.

Your rights

You can request access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability of your data by writing to us, and delete your account yourself from Settings. If we don't deal with it properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
